Your rights as a posted worker

Workers posted to Denmark by a foreign service provider are covered by certain provisions of Danish law as well as the Act concerning the Posting of Workers etc.

Notify RUT about a foreign posting

Foreign companies planning to work temporarily in Denmark, must notify the Register of Foreign Service Providers (RUT) about the work.

Residence and work permit

Before you can start working in Denmark as a posted worker you need to know if you require a residence and work permit. This depends on which country you come from.

Notify the Product Registry

Companies that import hazardous chemicals for commercial use in Denmark must notify the Product Registry of the products.

Applicable rules for posted drivers

Certain rules applies to drivers when they are posted to Denmark. The driver has the right to a minimum wage and the transport manager is obligated to register the driver.

Recognition of qualifications

For posted workers in Denmark there may be some professional qualifications that require approval by the Working Environment Authority.

Posted temporary agency workers must not work under worse conditions than if they were employed in the enterprise where they carry out work as substitutes.
